How to reach Dhanbad

Dhanbad also famous as “Coal Capital of India”, which is a mineral city, is well connected by train with the rest of the country. There are direct train services are available from/to Kolkata, Bodh Gaya, Ranchi and Delhi and many other major cities of the country.

By Road

Private and State buses are available for intercity transportation. National highway 2 and national highway 3 are the major highways passing through Dhanbad. Out of them NH 2 has been converted into “Golden Quadrilateral” that starts from Kolkata and ends at Delhi. NH32 connect Govindpur to Bokaro, Jamshedpur.

By Air

Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna, Gaya and New Delhi are nearest International Airport from Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India.

By Train

Dhanbad has a very good rail connectivity with the other major parts of the country such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmadabad, Hyderabad, Kochi, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal, Nagpur, Pune, Guwahati, etc. The railway division of Dhanbad comes under east central railway zone. Dhanbad Rail Division is the second largest in terms of revenue generation after the Mumbai division. It is the largest railway station in Jharkhand, handling over 100 trains and 100,000+ passengers every day.  Grand chord line passing through Dhanbad connects Howrah and New Delhi. India’s first ACdouble-decker train was flagged off to connect Howrah and Dhanbad on October 1, 2011. With this India joins the league of Europe and North America that run multi-deck trains.

How to reach ISM Dhanbad from Dhanbad railway station?

The institute is located in the heart of the city and can be reached conveniently. It is around 2 Km distance and around 5 minute drive from the Dhanbad railway station. To reach the ISM Dhanbad campus from the railway station, also several pre-paid Taxi services are available. The present fare from railway station to ISM Dhanbad is around Rs 100-150/-.
